Hallucinogens in your backyard..

If you think this is some usual flower, think again.

Ipomoea tricolor contains Lesergic Acid Amide (LSA), which is the natural form of LSD.
The downside is that you have to consume around 200-300 seeds in order to have the effect of 300 micro g of LSD. And you better be safe from the side effects because you experience many before leaving to wonderland since most seeds sold at the store are coated with a substance that makes you feel ill. So if you can extract it or find "uncoated" seeds, be ready for a 14 hours of a dream like state without being illegal...
Beautiful colorful flowers.. Just not the kind you can bring home to your girl.

If you're not into chemical based drugs you can be passing everyday by powerful natural 'enhancers' without knowing it. Our government keeps dimming the light over any "uppers, downers, screamers, laughter.." as Hunter S. Thompson described it. What societies seem to miss is that plants are there to stay whether we like it or not; all kinds, shapes, colors, different effects... And to each area is a drug associated with it, I just mentioned the one that grows in the middle east, it's for sure the last on the drug list because of all the complications, but would still take you to the trip you're seeking.

-It is a personal choice, your life; Just remember more bad than good will come out of abusing it, and don't do it for the wrong reasons. If you're mature enough, experimenting with drugs can alter you perception of life to a whole different level.

Midnight Mass Hysteria!

Have you seen John Lewis Christmas Advert 2011 ??

Well this Ad will give you a hint on today's topic. Today; December 25th.

Mass Hysteria, also known as collective/group hysteria or collective obsessional behavior. It is the manifestation of the same or similar hysterical symptoms by more than one person.
Sounds familiar??
Merry Christmas!

It all started three weeks ago-like every other year- shops start decorating, Coca Cola's icon-Santa Claus is suddenly everywhere.

But it doesn't end there...

People start showing symptoms of the seasonal disorder, it starts with the "christmas spirit" where everyone becomes so hyper and joyful all the time, girls will start posting their traditional status of: "Last christmas I gave you my heart..." (What ever happened to learning from our mistakes!!), guys will start uploading pictures of half naked girls wearing teared up pieces of santa/coca cola's uniform because that's the standards for "cool" nowadays.

I, personally, have had enough of the "christmas spirit" before it even started.
Unfortunatly the whole situation escalades reaching its peak on December 24th when everyone is so intense, preparing for the holy night, everything is so edgy, every bedroom, living room, kitchen is full of people busy doing stuff (altho if you look closely, they are doing nothing but running around like lunatics releasing stress and all the hysterical energy that comes along).

What is worse than our homes is SOCIAL NETWORKING.
From facebook, twitter, whatsapp, bbm... To your cellphone, laptop, ipad...
The tweets, status, messages.... And the new messages substitute- whatsapp/bbm (It is pathetic yet hilarious how this year I didn't get not even one actual message, but my whatsapp was going crazy- Thanks dear friends and family, you are truely generous!)

Anyhow, what is up with all the posts people!! "MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYOOOONE FRIENDS FAMILY I LOVE YOU ALL MAY JESUS BLESS YOUUU ALL MAY  YOU ALL LIVE IN PEACE ... ONE MORE THING, I LOVE YOU AAAAAAAALL".. It may have sounded right when you were posting it, but reading it now sounds a little bit stupid, don't you think? and the Caps Lock, it is kind of meaningless because no, no one can hear you scream; also repeating this much letters only gives out that your keyboard is messed up. So how about you ask santa for a new laptop and spare most of us the diziness everytime we look at our homepage!

How about we get more creative for a change; If you really feel the need to give out wishes, why not wish 90210 watchers lots of sex (they need it!); how about we wish the less fortunate the lottery prize, or maybe wish your stoner friends that they will eventually legalize it!
You see, the more personal you wishes get, the more it shows how much you mean it.

I hope that we will eventually get to a point where we will be intellectual enough to stop wishing. "I wish" doesn't get you laid, build home for the poor, or get your pothead friend through the military roadblock.
If you really want something to happen, if you really want to help out; Step up and BE THE CHANGE!

Writing this post was my personal hysteria, I don't think any of us will snap out of it before January 1st; We are, after all, subjects to our collective unconscious.

Cheers!

Why atheists have better sex !!!

In case you're still wondering, no it is not a prank, YES atheists do have better sex.

Why?

A study showed that non believers feel less or no guilt about their sexual lives which I believe unables them to even perform better. Not only that, but non believers also give better sex education to their children than theistics do.

It's not about the positions, oral sex, masturbation, adultery... It's about the pleasure that comes from the act itself.
Atheists derive more satisfaction from sex than believers because they don't feel like going "against" the holy book or the word of the lord; they don't feel "guilty" about the pleasure they are having, hence the more intense satisfactory feelings.

But in the believers defense (other than they got the screaming nailed unlike atheists/agnostic- Oh unknown cosmic entropy!! Oh chemical flasks!!) , theistic people feel less anxiety and stress than atheists when they make mistakes in their daily lives. Believers tend to seek refugee in god, and so they believe he would help them, carry their burden along. This is not exactly a good thing because how would we ever learn unless we pay for our mistakes?

Now before some of you jump to the conclusion that religious people "repent" in the presence of jesus and hence they are less likely to repeat the same mistake; I am not talking about ethics here, I'm being purely scientific, and by science, anxiety and guilt are negative reinforcements that will never allow us to be "tempted" again whether we are aware of it or not.

Yeah well, God is not so great after all !

God and Epilepsy

Saint Paul, also known as "Paul The Apostle" was one of the writers of the bible or "the new testament".
Going back in history researching the original founders of the old testament, the new testament or basicaly anything that has to do with christianity,  St Paul is a remarquable figure that we hear about throughout the history of christianity. St paul was an ordinary man on his way to kill all of Jesus desciples when he suddenly fell to the ground and started hearing the voice of, what he claimed to be, Jesus Christ. St paul was blinded for three days afterwards; He was then baptized and restored his sight back.

Some of you might love this story for its religious meaning, the way Jesus performed those magnificent miracles with St Paul, not only he appeared to him out of nowhere but also this omnipotence of bliding and giving sight back.
Others are more scientific, like myself, tend to love this story for the scientific evidence it gives that St Paul was unfortunatly epileptic. Jesus appeared to him by a "flash of light", St Paul "fell on the ground", he was "blinded for three days" afterwards.

You see a Saint in this guy, I see a poor man with epilepsy.
Seeing flashes, balls of light or having a brief loss of vision is very common with partial seizures starting in the occipital lobe. It makes sense since the occipital lobe is responsible for our vision.
As for the fell on the ground, it is a result of any seizure; "Le grand mal".
If we were even remotly smart to question authority we would understand the symptoms of epilepsy; Seeing or hearing something that is not actually happening, wondering off without awareness of what you are doing, having vivid memory, carring out strange body movements, having problems speaking or understanding etc..

St Paul gave us strong hints of his disease, but even when reading an autobiography, we still believe whatever we choose to.
"You remember why I preached the gospel to you the first time; it was because I was ill. But even though my physical condition was a great trial to you, you did not despise or reject me."
"'But to keep me from being puffed up with pride... I was given a painful physical ailment, which acts as Satan's messenger to beat me and keep me from being proud."

Not only St Paul was epileptic, but according to scientists many religious figures would join his category so far including Moses, Mohammad, Joan of Arc and much more; As science evolves, we will be able to diagnose hopefully all the delusional figures that made a great mark throughout time, only before the breakout of science.

It is such a shame to be so evolved in science on one hand and yet so primal in our personal thoughts.
This is why I'm going to dedicate alot of articles to diagnose religious figures that stamped our history and infected our future.

From desciples, apostles to demonic possessions. Stay Tuned !

Religion Vs Science

It is no secret that we are born to believe in god.

The second thing we learn in our childhood after speech is our parent's religious views, this is why patients with amnesia forget their family, friends, everything about their lives before forgetting god and its religious aspect. Plus of course, religion in all its forms has been around for many years, so it's encrypted in our history genes.
Research shows that children have a naiive way of reasoning that leads them to supernatural conclusions whenever they think about how the world was made. As they grow older, their reasoning becomes more rational, and so the tendencies to supernatural beliefs takes a religious aspect.
Professor Pascal Boyer wrote in a recent article: “From childhood, humans form enduring and important social relationships with fictional characters, imaginary friends, deceased relatives, unseen heroes and fantasised mates."
Reseachers also found that all this "supernatural" action takes place in a specific region in the brain that is linked to spirituality.
In short, we as species, are programmed to believe in god.

Programmed. Does that mean god programmed our brains to believe in him? Or does it mean that our brains generates a belief in god? The great religion vs science debate.

(..To be continued)

Artificial Happiness

Closer and closer into the holiday spirit... Deeper into the never ending vicious spiral!!!

Traffic, inhanced religious traditions, sleep in, getting intoxicated, purchasing and receiving gifts, family outings and the sacred, the holy- Santa Claus! To each his own.. Where do YOU stand in all this?

What I love about christmas is that, suddenly our streets are all lightened up, we have electricity, we are one step closer to being an official country, suddenly we don't have to run over an old guy on the street because we couldn't see him(makes more sense to me since i'm a girl).
Or maybe we just don't run over an old guy because there is too much traffic we can't go over 10km/h!!!!

Here comes Christmas, here comes this time of the year when you can actually buy happiness... Well you think it's happiness, but in fact it is just a temporary euphoria. So enjoy it while it lasts because before you know it, reality is going to strike back in and hits you in the face; Your new cellphone is only so awesome until you take two seconds from your precious life to notice that kid on the street freezing to death while you're enjoying the snow.

Socrates once said: "Contentment is natural wealth; luxury, artificial poverty."

Merry Christmas.

Mass Hypnosis: Drugs, Sex and Religion

Man discovered sex for the continuity of the human race; He then discovered drugs for his personal pleasure; Drugs lead him to discover spirituality and hence god. Who created man??
This is the vicious cycle I keep running unto.

Let's start with sex and its tabooed concept.
Sex is natural, we have sex to reproduce, unleash anger and frustration, bond physically with one's partner and of course for the fun of it.
We derive ultimate pleasure with sex so why be ashamed of it?
We are still living in an uneducated, close minded culture that forbids not only premarital sex but also its concept. In other words, especially girls taking about sex in our community are most likely to be labeled as whores for their honesty.
So instead of glorifying our ultimate source of pleasure, we should ignore it. Instead of teaching the upcoming generation about the importance of contraception not only to avoid creating a life they are not ready to handle but also because the dangers of sexual transmitted diseases, we decide to look away from the whole topic.
Internet porn is free of charge and one button away, television sets at our homes are full with coded channels. Kids are watching, learning, and imitating unreliable resources. Parents are not acknowledging the fact that it's better to educate instead of ignoring.
A teenager running to the bathroom, locking the door, masturbating. He has to do it fast because soon his sister would be knocking on the door (to fix her make up or maybe to masturbate as well). This teenager blows off the steam fast, every time, not knowing this could cause him problems later on in his life like premature ejaculation.
I realize how masturbation could be so tabooed since the beginning of time after all it is called "the secret habit". Why does religion categories masturbation as sinful is a whole different subject that would be my pleasure to point out. Masturbation is biological, healthy and natural but god forbids anything even remotely sexual should become "normal" to talk about, it is the end of religion as we know it. Or so they believe.
Religions are so dogmatic that they will not accept any change, much like a dysfunctional family.

What came first; Sex or Religion?
I believe sex came first. Now before getting all frustrated about this idea, allow me to explain:
You need sex to reproduce, more sex to make a society/clan/group. A group of people believing in the same thing makes religion.
So yes, sex came first, and hence it has the upper hand.

Now let's move to drugs.
Drugs are never ending, with different purposes, side effects, usage etc..
Some drugs can be used daily, like hash, other drugs are occasional like cocaine, and the last form of it is an experience that enhances spirituality and makes you one with the world like LSD.
Much like every other thing in life, abusing drugs has of course its negative effects. Abuse it, and it's gonna come biting you right in the ass; Use it well, you'll find peace, serenity and you will be doing good not only to yourself but to the world. I am not even going to elaborate on how religion emerged from psychoactive drugs because my whole point is free will, the freedom to choose our own beliefs and lifestyle.

Don't get me wrong, I am neither pushing you to rebel sexually, nor convincing you to experiment with drugs. Again, both are personal matters that each should make a convenient and personal choice about; of course It all depends on the person and their lifestyle.
I hope you understand where I'm coming from and what I'm getting at. My whole point is that sex and drugs are personal matters that we encounter everyday so instead of crossing out both concepts, our state should be more educative and constructive rather than pulling the plug on anyone who dares to object.
I am pointing at religion and not society by itself because in our culture, religion runs everything from politics to personal business.

I believe in a state where religion is also personal, a decision that each should make at some point of their lives.

I am writing this article because I am sick of the lame small talks and pointless subject. We need something more stimulating, and taken scientifically nothing can be more stimulating than sex, drugs, religion- THE BRAIN.
