Man discovered sex for the continuity of the human race; He then discovered drugs for his personal pleasure; Drugs lead him to discover spirituality and hence god. Who created man??
This is the vicious cycle I keep running unto.
Let's start with sex and its tabooed concept.
Sex is natural, we have sex to reproduce, unleash anger and frustration, bond physically with one's partner and of course for the fun of it.
We derive ultimate pleasure with sex so why be ashamed of it?
We are still living in an uneducated, close minded culture that forbids not only premarital sex but also its concept. In other words, especially girls taking about sex in our community are most likely to be labeled as whores for their honesty.
So instead of glorifying our ultimate source of pleasure, we should ignore it. Instead of teaching the upcoming generation about the importance of contraception not only to avoid creating a life they are not ready to handle but also because the dangers of sexual transmitted diseases, we decide to look away from the whole topic.
Internet porn is free of charge and one button away, television sets at our homes are full with coded channels. Kids are watching, learning, and imitating unreliable resources. Parents are not acknowledging the fact that it's better to educate instead of ignoring.
A teenager running to the bathroom, locking the door, masturbating. He has to do it fast because soon his sister would be knocking on the door (to fix her make up or maybe to masturbate as well). This teenager blows off the steam fast, every time, not knowing this could cause him problems later on in his life like premature ejaculation.
I realize how masturbation could be so tabooed since the beginning of time after all it is called "the secret habit". Why does religion categories masturbation as sinful is a whole different subject that would be my pleasure to point out. Masturbation is biological, healthy and natural but god forbids anything even remotely sexual should become "normal" to talk about, it is the end of religion as we know it. Or so they believe.
Religions are so dogmatic that they will not accept any change, much like a dysfunctional family.
What came first; Sex or Religion?
I believe sex came first. Now before getting all frustrated about this idea, allow me to explain:
You need sex to reproduce, more sex to make a society/clan/group. A group of people believing in the same thing makes religion.
So yes, sex came first, and hence it has the upper hand.
Now let's move to drugs.
Drugs are never ending, with different purposes, side effects, usage etc..
Some drugs can be used daily, like hash, other drugs are occasional like cocaine, and the last form of it is an experience that enhances spirituality and makes you one with the world like LSD.
Much like every other thing in life, abusing drugs has of course its negative effects. Abuse it, and it's gonna come biting you right in the ass; Use it well, you'll find peace, serenity and you will be doing good not only to yourself but to the world. I am not even going to elaborate on how religion emerged from psychoactive drugs because my whole point is free will, the freedom to choose our own beliefs and lifestyle.
Don't get me wrong, I am neither pushing you to rebel sexually, nor convincing you to experiment with drugs. Again, both are personal matters that each should make a convenient and personal choice about; of course It all depends on the person and their lifestyle.
I hope you understand where I'm coming from and what I'm getting at. My whole point is that sex and drugs are personal matters that we encounter everyday so instead of crossing out both concepts, our state should be more educative and constructive rather than pulling the plug on anyone who dares to object.
I am pointing at religion and not society by itself because in our culture, religion runs everything from politics to personal business.
I believe in a state where religion is also personal, a decision that each should make at some point of their lives.
I am writing this article because I am sick of the lame small talks and pointless subject. We need something more stimulating, and taken scientifically nothing can be more stimulating than sex, drugs, religion- THE BRAIN.
